PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new sandwich cathode design having two kinds of cathode active materials installed on a dorsiduct side face of a current collector. SOLUTION: The respective active materials resembles, for example, at the point of those avilable output power rate, of their energy density or of other parameters. However, one material is more profitable than the other material in one characteristic, but become disadvantageous in a different characteristic. The cathode is constituted in a sandwiched form having the first active material pinched between two current collectors. Next, the second active material is installed so as to be contacted with the other side of at least either current collector, and is preferably installed to face an anode. The typical cathode is MnO2/current collector/SVO/current collector/MnO2 type. |
