PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic seal system for surely playing a role of certifying a person himself/herself and authenticating a document, and a recording medium for recording an electronic seal program for realizing the electronic seal system. SOLUTION: The electronic seal system seals seal print image data in a sealing area of an electronic document, and is provided with a sealing means for sealing the seal print image data on a sealer in the sealing area after embedding signature information in the sealing area of a sealing object document by forming the signature information by enciphering a hash value by a secret key of the sealer by forming the hash value of the sealing object document, and an authenticating means for adding an invalid mark to the sealing area sealed with the seal print image data when failing in decoding the signature information or when the compared hash value does not coincide by comparing the hash value obtained from a sealed electronic document with a hash value obtained by decoding the signature information by forming the hash value of the sealed electronic document, and extracting the hash value by decoding the signature information embedded in the sealing area by a public key of the sealer.
