<p>The invetion relates to a method and device for drying wood, in which method timber to be dried is placed in a drying chamber and dried in three phases. In the first phase, the load of timber is heated in a vacuum chamber to the desired temperature using hot water as a medium. In the second phase, water is pumped from the vacuum chamber into a surrounding container and a very low subatmospheric pressure is introduced in the vacuum chamber while at thesame time heating the chamber. In the third phase, the timber is dried in a subatmospheric pressure by means of RF energy.</p> |
