PURPOSE: An apparatus and method of manufacturing activated carbon from waste garbage in place of conventional sources such as wood, sawdust, coconut shell, bituminous, peat and lignite is provided to reduce production cost of activated carbon and further recycle waste garbage as useful source. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus comprises a combustion device(100), a carbonizing calcination device(200), a cooling device of hot gas(300), a drying equipment(400), a dust collection equipment(500) and a wastewater treatment equipment(600). Food waste is carbonized and calcined at 700-900 deg.C for 3-5 hours using heat source supplied from the combustion device(100) in the carbonizing calcination device(200), and further dried at the drying equipment(400) at 150-250 deg.C for 3-5 hours.
