PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute the various settings after confirming whether or not a apparatus to be exists on a network in a lighting system using the network. SOLUTION: This lighting system has a setting device 12 for setting an operation condition to a specific apparatus having ID by designating the proper ID processed by the apparatus by connecting the apparatus such as luminaire 23, a sensor 21, a controller 22 to the network 20. A first command A is sent out to the network 20 from the setting device 12 for knowing the presence and nonpresence of the specific apparatus to beset. The specific apparatus sends out a second command B to the network 20 for informing the presence when receiving the first command A. The setting device 12 starts a setting tool 12a for the first time when receiving the second command B.
