PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bright, low electric power consumption and inexpensive light emitting device and an electric appliance. SOLUTION: Phosphorescence of an organic light emitting material 1204b usually observing only fluorescence can be accelerated by including the organic light emitting material 1240b in an interstitial positioning of a heavy metal complex 1204a for forming a lattice structure. An organic EL element obtained in this way has high light emitting efficiency since the phosphorescence can be used, and is colorful in light emitting colors since a conventional organic light emitting material can be used, and can also be inexpensively manufactured. The light emitting device and the electric appliance are manufactured by using this organic EL element.
