NO-BLOW DEVICE FOR GAS METER REPLACEMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a no-blow device enabling work to be safely carried out by ascertaining the air tightness of an existing pipe and by collecting residual gas in a gas meter when the gas meter is replaced. SOLUTION: This no-blow device 20 has a body part 21 with a mount port 22 and a gas collection member 30 disposed in the body part 21 in a forward/ backward movable manner. The body part 21 is formed by journaling one end of a fixed part 23 to one end of a movable part 24 so that they can be opened or closed. The collection member 30 having a needle member 40 disposed on its end part is mounted in the fixed part 23 in a forward/backward movable manner. After the no-blow device 20 is mounted on an outlet piping port 3 of the gas meter, the needle member 40 of the collection member 30 is moved forward so as to pass through a single wall part of a rubber packing 7, thus ascertaining air tightness. Thereafter, the residual gas in the gas meter is collected from a small-diameter gas passage in the needle member 40 through a large-diameter gas passage in a gas collection pipe into a gas tank.
