PURPOSE: A tension mask frame assembly of a color cathode ray tube is provided to improve vibration attenuation effect due to friction between strips and damper wires. CONSTITUTION: A tension mask frame assembly comprises support members(301,302), elastic frame(300), a tension mask(20), and a damping wire(400) for attenuating vibration of the tension mask(20). The tension mask(20) includes a hole part having many strips(21,21'), many real bridges(22) for defining a slot(24), and many dummy bridges(23), and a non-hole part extended from the hole part. The damping wire(400) includes a first damping wire(401) and a second damping wire(402) arranged at the non-hole part of the tension mask(20). The first damping wire(401) and the second damping wire(402) are arranged from the left bottom corner and the left top corner of the tension mask(20), respectively, to cross each other at the center of the tension mask(20).
