METHOD OF MANUFACTURING OUTER COVER FOR ENDOSCOPE FLEXIBLE TUBE AND OUTER COVER FOR ENDOSCOPE FLEXIBLE TUBE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the outer cover for an endoscope flexible tube capable of providing the endoscope flexible tube excellent in insertion controllability. SOLUTION: This manufacturing method of the outer cover for the endoscope flexible tube has a first process of forming a mold 4 having a hollow part by using a material including a high polymer material, and a second process of irradiating a radioactive ray to at least a part of the mold 4. The mold 4 is desirably obtained by extrusion molding. A material used for forming the mold 4 desirably includes at least one of a polyurethane resin and polyurethane elastomer. The second process is desirably performed while rotating the mold 4. The second process is desirably performed while relatively moving an irradiating source 11 of the radioactive ray and the mold 4. At this time, the second process is desirably performed while changing a relative moving speed of the irradiating source 11 and the mold 4. Energy per one quantum of the radioactive ray is desirably 1×102 to 4×106 eV.
