PURPOSE: A portable computer is provided to prevent a latch member from departing horizontally by sustaining the latch member in a latch supporting unit. CONSTITUTION: Upon inserting an option device to an option device receiving unit, a fixing ledge of the option device is inserted to a stopping portion(35) and fixed in a latch member(30). An extension piece(39) formed on the lower portion of the stopping portion is received in an extension piece receiving portion(25). For withdrawing the option device from a portable computer, a knob(40) exposed to the lower side of a lower casing is moved to an unlocking position. The option device is removed from the latch member. Then, the option device is withdrawn. Even if the option device is withdrawn with a force while the knob is not moved to a locking position, the extension piece received in the extension receiving portion restrains the option device from withdrawing. Therefore, the disassembling of the latch member, the knob, and an elastic member(50) in a casing is avoided.
