PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide method of cleaning soil and/or groundwater which activates in-soil anaerobic microorganisms to decompose organic chlorine compounds and does not give rise to the harmful effect by accumulation, etc., of electron donors. SOLUTION: The method of cleaning the soil and/or groundwater comprising applying the recovered digestion liquid obtained by subjecting wastes to anaerobic digestion treatment then to separation of solid from the solution for the soil and the composition for cleaning the soil used for the same.
