PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To utilize an elevator in place of a conventional screw conveyor as a grain elevator and efficiently carry out grain elevating actions of first grade grains with a bucket conveyor type elevator and grain elevating actions of tailings with a flat conveyor type elevator though the screw conveyor type is frequently adopted as conventional first grade grain and tailings elevators. SOLUTION: This general-purpose combine harvester is characterized by composing and installing a treating chamber 19 for internally axially installing a treating cylinder 18 located in one lateral part of a threshing chamber 17 internally axially installing a threshing cylinder 15 and parallel to the threshing cylinder 15 and arranging and installing the bucket conveyor type first grade grain elevator 25 for elevating the first grade grains and taking out the grains into a grain tank 7 and the flat conveyor type tailings elevator 32 for returning the tailings into the treating chamber 19 in front and rear in the transverse lateral part of the treating chamber 19.
