PURPOSE: A method and a device for automatically diagnosing and recovering a PC trouble are provided to make a user connect to a DB storing various kinds of device driver data using for the automatic diagnosis and recovery system through the Internet. CONSTITUTION: A main server(105) provides a function for automatically diagnosing and recovering the PC trouble. A user computer(101) and the main server are connected by a computer communication network(103). A device driver DB(107) stores the driver file information by classifying various kinds of device driver data into each card kind, operating system, vender ID and device ID. A user information DB(109) stores the personal information of the user and issues a user ID. A trouble history DB(111) stores the user's records of the trouble diagnosis and recovery function offered by the main server. The main server comprises a connection part(1051), a selection part, an automatic diagnosis and recovery system(1053), and a support part(1054) for receiving the remote diagnosis and recovery from an adviser set by the main server.
