PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air permeable flame intercepting body capable of keeping the air permeability at an ordinary temperature and intercepting the air permeable layer to stop a fire from spreading at a high temperature when a fire occurs. SOLUTION: This air permeable layer flame intercepting body 1 is formed by a long thermal expansion member fixing member 2 having a base part 2a, and both side parts 2b, 2b connected thereto and provided with an air hole 2c, made by a plate- like incombustible material, and having a groove-shaped section, a thermal expansion member 3 made of a flame resisting material causing volume expansion above 100% when the temperature is elevated to about 200 deg.C or more and disposed in the groove of the member 2 with a space 3a communicating with the hole 2c, and a long square member 4 bonded to the back of the part 2a and having apart 4a and a hole 4b in the corner part. The intercepting body is disposed in a boundary part between the upper floor and the lower floor extending over the air permeable layer and the heat insulating material part in an outer wall, and in the vicinity of a lower drip and an upper eaves soffit opening part, whereby when a fire occurs, the member 3 is heated and expanded to block up the groove-shaped part of the member 2 and the member 4 is provided to intercept the air permeable layer even if the heat insulating material is fused or burnt.
