摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem of a conventional projection type image display device that has caused uneven coloring because a light not collimated by a regular refraction lens group provided for downsizing of an optical system is made incident onto a dichroic film for color synthesis. SOLUTION: The projection type image display device, that has image display elements 8-10 applying modulation to lights depending on an image signal, a color synthesis optical element 11 that uses the dichroic film to synthesize lights with different wavelength regions modulated by the image display elements, lens groups 14-16 having an entirely positive refracting force placed between the image display elements and the color synthesis optical element and projects the light synthesized by the color synthesis optical element to display an image, is provided with a storage means 24 that stores data to correct an unevenness of luminance levels of the projected image and with a signal correction means 19 that corrects the image signal by each image display element on the basis of the data stored in the storage means.</p>
