SOLUTION: A variable wavelength filter 120 is constituted by fitting an array waveguide diffraction grating 122 on a Peltier element 121, and the array waveguide 122a of the array waveguide diffraction grating 122 is a polymer waveguide. When light P to be measured is inputted to this variable wavelength filter 120 through an optical fiber 130, the spectral characteristics vary with temperature, and monochromatized light is outputted through an optical fiber 140 and detected by an optical detector 150. The Peltier element 121 performs temperature control to vary a wavelength to be cut out and the light intensity of each wavelength is plotted against the wavelength to obtain the spectrum of the measured light P.
