PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of assembling a torsion bar capable of reducing the cost of an assembly jig, and a highly rigid torsion bar using the method. SOLUTION: In this torsion bar assembly method, a connection part 24 provided at one end of the torsion bar A is press-fitted into an assembly hole 31 formed in an assembled member B to connect the torsion bar A to the assembled member B. A twisted part 23 formed on the torsion bar A is covered with a buckling prevention jig 32 to guide the twisted part 23, an axial force is applied to the end face 40 of the torsion bar on the opposite side of the connection part 24 to press-fit the connection part 24 into the assembly hole 31 in the assembled member B. A guide part 26 slightly smaller in diameter than the assembly hole 31 is installed at the tip of the connection part 24 with large diameter provided at one end of the twisted part 23 with small diameter.
