PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a jam due to bad detachability of a sheet material from a separating pawl in some sheet material sizes. SOLUTION: This sheet conveyance device is provided with separating members 4a and 4b for holding down both end vicinity portions of the sheet material P perpendicular to a conveyance direction and separating the sheet material to be conveyed from other sheet materials, first driving rollers 1 and 1 applying conveyance driving force to a substantially center portion of the sheet material perpendicular to the conveyance direction, and second driving rollers 2 and 2 applying conveyance driving force to portions on both sides of the substantially center portion of the sheet material. It is composed so that when the sheet material is to be conveyed, the first driving rollers apply the conveyance driving force to the sheet material before the second driving rollers.
