NEW ANTIBIOTICS PASTEURESTIN A AND B, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide new antibiotics exhibiting antibacterial activity capable of specifically suppressing the growth of bacteria belonging to the genus Pasteurella. SOLUTION: Antibiotics pasteurestin A and B of the compounds expressed by general formula (I) (wherein, in pasteurestin A, R1 is hydroxymethyl and R2 is H, and in pasteurestin B, R1 is methyl and R2 is hydroxy). The antibiotics and pharmaceutically permissible salts of the antibiotics have antibacterial activity against various kinds of bacteria.
