PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an injectable sodium acetylsalicylate that has high purity and stability and is suitably useful as a subcutaneously injectable medicine and provide a method of producing anhydrous sodium acetylsalicylate, too. SOLUTION: This anhydrous sodium acetylsalicylate is formed by removing steam from the dihydrate form of sodium acetyl-salicylate at the same rate as that when the anhydrous form is formed. The resultant sodium actylsalicylate can be stored at least for 2 or 3 years and shows high purity as much as 97-100% even after 3-year storage at room temperature.
