PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display capable of performing stable address discharge during an address period, and also stably holding wall charges formed during a reset period. SOLUTION: The plasma display comprises an address electrode (Aj) for scanning a plurality of display cells and designating their addresses, scanning electrodes (Yi) for performing address discharge across the address electrode according to the address designation, common electrodes (Xi) for sustaining discharges across the scanning electrodes for displaying the display cells, and a scan diver for supplying a voltage to the scanning electrodes so as to scan a plurality of the display cells by splitting them into a plurality of periods when designating the addresses. The scan driver varies the potential of a scanning electrode adjacent to the scanning electrode corresponding to the address- designated electrode at the time of designating the address.
