PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inhibit the generation of a switching loss in a switching element, as much as possible for constituting a main circuit of a power conversion device. SOLUTION: A command value converter sets a conversion period for alternately executing a first conversion period for fixing the command value level of the two phases to the maximum or minimum for one-phase modulation and a second conversion period for fixing either one-phase command value level from the two phases to the maximum or minimum for biphase modulation at the same time ratio in periods (steps B2 to B7: 'Yes'), in which either biphase command value level from the three-phase voltage command values U*, V*, and W* becomes relatively approximate, and further performs the pulse width modulation of a carrier by conversion voltage command values U**, V**, and W**, where a phase whose conversion period has been set, is changed by a change phase amount α (step B1), thus outputting a switching control signal to an inverter main circuit (step B9). |
