PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic transmission capable of holding down the change of a transmission size to the minimum, using the current transmission as it is without changing the mechanism of the current transmission, and being allowed to be mounted on a current automobile in post-additional manner in the case of loading the conventional small-size geared transmission with a mechanism for lessening a shock in connecting and disconnecting a clutch in shifting. SOLUTION: This automatic transmission is provided with driving gears 111, 112 secured to a first shaft, at least one or more first gear set formed by a driven gear 122 provided to be connected to a second shaft and be raced in the state of meshing with the driving gears, driven gears 123, 124, 125 secured to the second shaft, and a torque transmitting mechanism 140 for transmitting torque between the driven gear freely raced to the second shaft and the driven gear secured to the second shaft. |
