<p>PURPOSE:To provide a waste gas sucking device with a movable cover, by which the smoke and waste gas gushed from behind a shell at the time of rolling in a mandrel mill for manufacturing seamless steel tube are effectively sucked in without filling the plant. CONSTITUTION:In the entrance side of the rolling stand part 1 of a mandrel mill, a side suction hood 4 is arranged to which a movable top cover 5, front cover 6 and side cover 7 are attached; when a shell 2 and the mandrel 3 are charged into a rolling line, the front cover 6 is raised upward; at the time of rolling, the front cover 6 is lowered, covering the discharge area of smoke and waste gas gushed from behind the shell 2 and effectively sucking them. Consequently, the degree of cleanliness inside a plant is greatly improved, and the maintenance state and operation rate of various equipment are enhanced.</p> |
