The projection system has a light source (10) supplying a light beam (1) to a first modulator (17), providing an intensity-modulated primary light beam (7) containing optical information corresponding to a first modulation function for obtaining a first projection image (E) and a residual light beam (3) corresponding to the difference between the source light beam and the intensity-modulated primary light beam. The residual light beam is received by a second modulator (16) providing an intensity-modulated secondary light beam (6) containing optical information corresponding to a second modulation function for obtaining a second projection image (F).
