PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of coating a roller, in which the unevenness of a coating film thickness in the upper side and lower side of a roller to be treated in a dip coating process is eliminated, the fabrication is inexpensively performed with a small-sized coating apparatus and the unevenness of film thickness in a spiral mark part is decreased in the case of using a coating liquid having a prescribed viscosity. SOLUTION: The method of coating the surface of the roller is performed by rotating the roller 2 to be treated around the axis center kept horizontal, moving horizontally while being brought into contact with the coating liquid housed in a liquid storage vessel 1 gradually from one end part 11 of the roller 2 to be treated and successively separating gradually from he liquid surface of the coating liquid from one end part 11 of the roller 2 to be treated, the pitch of the liquid breaking mark remaining at a position, where the roller 2 to be treated is separated from the surface of the coating liquid, in the longitudinal direction of the roller is controlled to 1-30 mm. |
