PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for producing a folded printed product by which extremely high power output can be achieved and nevertheless, good folded quality can be guaranteed. SOLUTION: To produce the folded printed product 1 e.g. a pamphlet, at least one web 2 is successively printed by at least one digital printing machine 22. Successively, this web 2 is cut into flat sheets 3 and 3' or web sections 3" with a multiple of four pages and then, they are folded. The flat sheets 3 and 3" or the web sections 3" folded are collected and the flat sheets 3 and 3" or the web sections 3" under folded and collected state are stitched. Buffers 9' and 9" are formed of the flat papers 3 and 3' or the folded web sections 3" to decouple the digital printing machine 22 and the flat sheets 3 and 3' or the folded web sections 3" are individually separated after the buffers 9' and 9" seen in the following treatment direction.
