PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To erase a picture of picture display medium which displays the picture in accordance with the electrified state without dissipating electric power. SOLUTION: A hand writing input device 16 makes a switch 46 off by releasing pressurization of the switch 46, electrically cuts off a picture writing device 12 and makes the same an electrically isolated state. When a writing erasure part 44 of the writing input device 16 in such a state is brought into contact with the part where 'OK' 50 is displayed of a picture display part 10 and is rubbed with the same, the surface of a film 22 which is disposed on the upper surface of the picture display part 10 is electrified with positive charge by frictional electrification with the writing erasure part 44, a two-color rotating particle 30 which is arranged in the picture display part 10 is rotated so as to dictate the white side to the upper surface and, as a result, the picture is erased.
