PURPOSE: An apparatus for operating a non-linear function using a lookup table is provided to rapidly perform an operation work by accurately performing the operation work without using a high performance numeric coprocessor, and by using a memory capable of storing offset as a cache. CONSTITUTION: An operation unit(100) performs an operation among addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. A memory(200) divides a non-linear function into a plurality of section suitable for the number of linear functions. In addition, the memory(200) stores an offset suitable for a linear function relevant to a section among the sections. An index unit(300) understands a range of a signal inputted to the operation unit(100). The index unit(300) detects a level of the signal inputted. In addition, the index unit(300) generates an address of a memory including an offset value to be output to the operation unit from the memory(200).
