PURPOSE: A database automatic synchronizing method of a network management system is provided to prevent disagreement between information of an optical transmission unit and information of a network management system and reduce a processing error of the network management system by periodically comparing the two information to search disagreed information, automatically updating corresponding information according to the search result and synchronizing the database of the network management system. CONSTITUTION: In an initialization state(S1), it is determined whether a specific control command is inputted from a user(S2). If a specific control command is inputted from the user, information is received from an optical transmission unit for a database synchronization according to an automatic mode and compared with information of a database(S3). It is determined whether the information of the optical transmission unit and the information of the database of a network management system(S4). If the two information are not identical to each other, the disagreed synchronization item of the database is requested from a DB-synchor(S5). It is determined whether a DB synchronization is being executed(S6). If the DB synchronization is being processed, it is determined whether an even has occurred in the optical transmission unit which is being DB-synchronized(S8). If an even has occurred in the optical transmission unit which is being DB-synchronized, the event generated from the optical transmission unit is processed to be pending(S9). If the DB synchronization is not being executed(S6), a DB synchronization command is made according to a DB synchronization item and a DB synchronization operation is performed(S10). The DB information of the network management system is updated by using the information of the optical transmission unit(S11).
