The end (6) of a therapeutic endoscope, with the probe (2) and the bending probe section, can swing around the probe axis through a setting unit (5,11) which slides through a longitudinal guide channel (7). The setting unit rotates with rotary stiffness within the guide channel, as a tube over most of its length. The flexible shaft section (11) of the setting unit is covered by a fluid-tight shrouding.
