Production of acrylic acid by heterogeneous catalytic, gas-phase partial oxidation of 3C precursor(s) with molecular oxygen followed by cooling and fractional condensation or rectification, in which phenothiazine and phenolic compound(s) are introduced at or near the head of the rectification or condensation column.
