PURPOSE: A color liquid crystal display using an ultraviolet back light and fluorescent material is provided to improve viewing angle and luminance of a liquid crystal display. CONSTITUTION: A color liquid crystal display includes an ultraviolet back light unit(25), a liquid crystal panel(27), and a pixel fluorescent plate(29). The ultraviolet back light unit has an ultraviolet ray generator to provide ultraviolet rays as a back light. The liquid crystal panel transmits the ultraviolet rays generated by the ultraviolet back light unit according to voltage applied to the ultraviolet rays. The pixel fluorescent plate generates light having a unique color according to the ultraviolet rays that have passed through the liquid crystal panel.
