PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cosmetic container capable of enhancing the operability of attachment/detachment of a cosmetic tray by enabling elasticity of a pawl to be set properly and capable of properly preventing damage to the pawl during the attachment/detachment of the cosmetic tray or the like. SOLUTION: An engaging groove 24a is formed on the outer periphery of the cosmetic tray. The first engaging protrusions 28 capable of being engaged with the engaging groove 24a are formed in a bulkhead 15a serving as the first wall part of the peripheral wall of a container body. U-shaped slits 30a are formed vertically in a rear wall 15b serving as the second wall part of the peripheral wall facing the bulkhead 15a, for the purpose of forming the plurality of leaf spring-shaped pawls 30, the lower ends of which are taken as free ends 30d and the upper ends of which are taken as fixed ends 30e. The free end 30d of the pawl 30 is formed with the second engaging protrusion 32 capable of being engaged with the engaging groove 24a. Additionally, a horizontal slit 38 is formed so as to have a width approximately equal to that of the pawl 30 in an appropriate position from above the fixed end 30e of each pawl 30 to a top face 15c thereof in a rear wall.
