PURPOSE: A synchronizer for a manual transmission is provided to prevent wear and breakage of a lug part by restricting collision between the lug of a middle cone and a groove of a clutch in shifting gears, and to improve shift quality by reducing noise. CONSTITUTION: A synchronizer of a manual transmission is composed of a hub gear combined with a main shaft; a sleeve sliding axially around the hub gear; a speed gear having a clutch gear(51) combined with the sleeve; a middle cone(53) combined with the side of the clutch gear; outer and inner rings contacted to the middle cone for synchronized turning. Plural grooves(51a) are formed around the clutch gear, and lug parts(53a) are formed in the middle cone. Lug parts are inserted to grooves of the clutch gear, and an elastic member is installed between the lug part and the groove to prevent collision. Wear and breakage are prevented with restricting the lug part from being bumped into the groove of the clutch gear in shifting gears. Shift quality is improved with reducing noise.
