PURPOSE: A method for renting software is provided to use and process various information by supplying various kinds of application software for computer users and renting the application software through a communication network. CONSTITUTION: If a log-on message is received(42), a control unit reads an application program menu stored in a memory and supplies the menu to a predetermined subscriber terminal through the first communication relay and the Internet, and a name of an application software to be rented is inputted(43). The control unit checks whether the name of application software to be rented is inputted(44). If the application software to be rented is inputted, the control unit reads the number of current users and licenses from a memory, and checks whether the number of current users is less than the number of licenses(45). If the number of current users is less than the number of licenses, the control unit adds the number of current users to '1'(46). The control unit controls the first communication relay and a software database, and makes a corresponding subscriber terminal use an application program to be rented which is stored in a software database(47). The control unit checks whether a message for notifying a termination of a usage of the application program by the subscriber terminal through the first communication terminal is received(48). If the termination message is received, '1' is subtracted from the number of the current users with respect to the application program(49). |
