PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piezoelectric device having an improved anti-shock property by making a piezoelectric vibrating element hardly bent inside a base and thereby preventing the element from being brought into contact with a cover even if a shock is applied from outside, and also to provide a method of sealing the same. SOLUTION: The piezoelectric device comprises the piezoelectric vibrating element 13, the base 12 for storing the piezoelectric vibrating element 13, and the metallic cover 14 for sealing the base wherein the piezoelectric vibrating element is stored, being bonded to an electrode section inside the base. The cover is formed with a convex part 21 projecting towards the piezoelectric vibrating element stored in the base.
