The machine comprises a conveyer unit (10) for transportation of a printed sheet bearing a typographical signature. The conveyer unit has a number of arms (18) each with a grip (23) moved by the signatures (5,6). When each arm makes a rotary movement, the grip dip into the vacant transport assembly (10) belt sections (14) to lift the leading edge of the respective signature. The system reduces the difference in speed between the cutting cylinder surface and the related conveyer belt. The gap is minimised between adjacent signatures caused by the braking effect. The grip provides a reliable means of lifting signatures as they rise from the belt.
