TRANSMITTER UNIT FOR A MAIL DELIVERY SYSTEM

A transmitter unit (1) for a radio signal-based mail delivery system comprising such transmitter unit (1) for being mounted on a mailbox or mail slot flap, and a receiver unit (2) for being located at a distance from the transmitter unit (1). The transmitter unit (1) is provided with a movement sensor for detecting movement of the mailbox or mail slot flap (4); and a transmitter with power supply for transmitting a radio signal depending on movement of the mailbox or mail slot flap (4). The transmitter unit (1) is configured as an elongate unit that is relatively flat and in one other dimension relatively narrow, whereby it can be mounted on all usual types of mailbox or mail slot flaps (4). Additionally a mail delivery system comprising such transmitter unit.
