<p>The object of this invention is to provide an auto-retractable sideview mirror assembly for vehicles, which allows a sideview mirror to be automatically retracted into or extended from a mirror chamber (11) of a vehicle's body (10) as desired. The assembly includes a hinged bushing (12) set in the upper portion of the chamber (11), a mirror body (20) rotatably mounted to the bushing (12), a reversible motor (14) rotating the bushing (12), and a fixed gear (21) mounted to the inside end of the bushing (12). In the bushing (12), a shaft (22) is fixed at its first end to the mirror body (20), with a bevel gear (23) mounted to a second end of the shaft (22) and engaging with the fixed gear (21). The shaft (22) is rotated in conjunction with a swinging action of the bushing (12) to rotate the mirror body (20).</p> |
