PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To glaze approximately the whole of a car door facing to an elevator car and an entrance of an elevator hall, and a hall-side door in view point of the design and the measures for the safety of a closed space. SOLUTION: Pieces of Glass 2, 4 are fitted to the car door 1 at the entrance of the elevator and the hall-side door 3 to allow the inside and outside of the elevator car 5 to be seen through. Sensors 9, 9, 10, 10 sensing a man or an article caught between doors 1, 1, 3, 3 and re-opening the doors 1, 1, 3, 3 are mounted on a side frame 1b of the car door 1, or a shutter box 11 of the hall- side door 3. The sensors 9, 10 are light-ray devices.
