摘要 PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing molten iron by COREX process is provided which is capable of stabilize system pressure by blowing air into a dome part above a fixed layer of a melting furnace in the COREX process, thereby securing an appropriate amount of excess gas. CONSTITUTION: In a method for manufacturing molten iron using a COREX system comprising a reduction furnace and a melting furnace(2) in which a fixed layer is formed, and a dome part is formed on the fixed layer, the method for manufacturing molten iron by COREX process is characterized in that an air blowing nozzle(9) for blowing air into the dome part of the melting furnace(2) is installed at one or more melting furnaces(2) so that air is blown into the dome part of the melting furnace through the air blowing nozzle(9), and an air blowing flow rate is determined in the range that an excess gas amount of the dome part of the melting furnace is 10000 Nm¬3/hr or more, and a nitrogen concentration in the gas of the dome part does not exceed maximum 12%.
