<p>A portion of an optical device is disclosed. In one aspect of the present invention, the device comprises a cylinder formed about an axis (408) having first (405) and second ends (424), the second end (424) being formed so as to define a segment of an inward-facing concave spherical surface. A module (428) is provided defining a cylinder formed about the axis (408) and having first (430) and second (431) ends and an optical element (426) disposed therein and along the axis (408). The first end (430) of the module (428) is formed so as to define a segment of an outward-facing convex spherical surface, and the convex surface is complimentary in shape to the concave surface. The complimentary concave and convex surfaces of the cylinder and the module (428) are mated so as to allow the optical element (428) to be aligned in a plane forming a predetermined angle with the axis (408).</p> |
