PURPOSE: A cooling apparatus of a motor is provided to eliminate requirement for a motor mount to be formed as a special material mold, and reduce the amount of the material for blades to reduce manufacture cost of the motor. CONSTITUTION: A cooling apparatus of a motor comprises a rotor(51), and many blades(53) formed to be protruded at both ends of the rotor(51) for generating air flow during the rotation of the rotor(51). The cross sectional area of each blade(53) is formed to be of a trapezoid(53a) at the inner side of the rotor(51) and of a semi-ellipse(53b) at the outer side of the rotor(51) for generating air flow to a frame of the motor. The blades(53) are tapered to have smaller cross sectional area at the end side. When the rotor(51) is rotated by the motor, the motor is cooled by air flow toward the frame in a lengthwise direction and a radial direction of the rotor(51) by the blades(53). The air flow in the radial direction of the rotor(51) maximizes cooling effect on a stator and the frame.
