A non-contact sheet support device (31) is provided in the nip (49) between the printing and transfer cylinders (1, 12). The support device ensures that the sheet (9) has a curvature (24) corresponding to that of part of the printing cylinder mantle surface (2) as it enters the nip region. Independent claims are also included for (a) a printing machine containg the sheet side reversal device, and (b) a multi-colour rotary printing machine containing this same device.
