Measurement of the elongation of a drive or conveyor belt caused by stretching using a CCD detector arrangement for measuring the relative position of reference markings with two linear sensor arrays

Method for contactless determination of a length alteration of a conveyor or drive belt (2) caused by stretching. Reference marks on the belt are detected using corresponding regions of a CCD sensor (9). Light from a light source is reflected from the markings and transmitted through linear optics (6) to the sensor. An Independent claim is made for a corresponding device for measuring elongation of a conveyor or drive belt.
