PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer insulator which can be integrally formed with a rubber umbrella. SOLUTION: A rubber coating 3 with prescribed thickness is formed on an FRP rod 2 having metal fittings 1 press-bonded at both ends, and cup-shaped umbrellas 6 made of rubber are formed at the metal fitting sides of the rubber coating 3. Here, openings of the cup-shaped umbrellas 6 made of rubber, face toward another side of the metal fittings, and sword guard-shaped umbrellas 4 are formed at the opening sides of the cup-shaped umbrellas 6, namely, the sword-guard shaped umbrellas 4 are located at the position just like to put lids on the cup-shaped umbrellas 6.
