PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simultaneously attain fast retrieval of recognition object vocabulary and saving of a memory capacity by storing recognition object vocabulary items presently required and adaptively updating the recognition object vocabulary items to be stored. SOLUTION: A natural language interaction device, which receives voice input, text input, etc., from a user and generates an answer corresponding to the intention of the user to output it, consists of a recognition part 1 and an interaction control part 2. The part 1 is provided with a recognition object vocabulary memory 11 for storing the recognition object vocabulary, recognizes inputted information in a natural language by referring to the memory 11 and outputs character string data on the string of plural words. The part 2 understands the meaning of inputted information from the character string data outputted from the part 1, solves a problem to generate an answer to return to the user, extracts vocabulary items included in the generated answer and when these extracted vocabulary items are not stored in the memory 11, the part 2 adds the extracted vocabulary items to the memory 11 as the recognition object vocabulary items. |
