PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a constitution in which satisfactory reliability can be obtained and a fly-stiction is not generated even if the floating height is reduced, with respect to a magnetic recording and reproducing head and a magnetic recording and reproducing device. SOLUTION: A highly oriented coating film 5 is provided on the surface, especially the surface having a >=40 mj/m2 surface free energy, of the magnetic recording and reproducing head 1 on which a magnetic sensor element 3 is mounted. Hydrocarbon molecules 10, especially A-(CH2)n-CH3 (wherein n>=10; A is any of carboxyl, hydroxyl, alkenyl, aryl (aromatic ring), azide, halogenated alkyl or silil group) is self-organized to form the highly oriented coating film 5.
