PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the need for carrying a cassette in which a luminous body for erasure to release the residual radiation energy of a stimulable phosphor sheet is housed therein to a current supply equipment and to adequately control the light emission time of the luminous body. SOLUTION: The cassette 1 in which the stimulable phosphor sheet 13 formed with a stimulable phosphor layer 13B on a sheet-like base 13A and accumulated and recorded with radiation images is housed is provided with the luminous body 51 which irradiates the stimulable phosphor sheet 14 housed therein with erasure light, a power source 50 which emits this luminous body 51 and a control circuit 52 which controls the light emission time of the luminous body 51.
